Description

This is a temporary visa for people who studied in Australia on a student visa. Candidate generally gets 18 months for Vocational studies subject to skills assessment and occupation to be in MLTSSL. Uni degree holders generally get 2-4 years with an option of 2nd visa for regional study.

  • hold a Temporary Graduate visa in the Post-Higher Education Work, Post-Study Work, or the Replacement stream and have held a Temporary Graduate visa in the Post-Higher Education Work or Post-Study Work stream, as the main applicant
  • have lived in an eligible designated regional area for at least 2 years before applying for your Second Temporary Graduate visa in the Post-Higher Education Work stream
  • have evidence of adequate health insurance for all applicants when you apply.

Process/Steps

  • Ensure that you have held a valid student visa in Australia.
  • Confirm that you have completed a CRICOS-registered course in Australia for at least 2 years.
  • Verify your qualifications and field of study align with the requirements for the Graduate Work stream or Post-Study Work stream.
  • If applying under the Graduate Work stream, make sure your qualification is closely related to an occupation on the Skilled Occupation List (SOL).
  • If applying under the Graduate Work Stream, obtain a positive skill assessment for your nominated occupation.

  • Choose an occupation listed on the MLTSSL.

  • Gather relevant educational and work experience documents to support your application.

  • Identify the appropriate skills assessment authority for your occupation.

  • Follow the application requirements as specified by the assessment authority.

  • Submit all required documents, including educational qualifications and work experience details.

  • Demonstrate English proficiency through an accepted test (IELTS, PTE, TOEFL, or Cambridge).

  • Meet the minimum score requirement for your visa stream.

  • Upload your test results as part of your visa application.

  • Submit your EOI through the SkillSelect system, indicating your interest in applying for the Subclass 485 visa.
  • Provide information about your skills, qualifications, work experience, and English proficiency.
  • Depending on your points score and nomination status, you may be invited to apply for the visa.
  • If you are selected, you will receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for the Subclass 485 visa.
  • The invitation will outline the steps you must take to complete your visa application.

Gather all the necessary documents to support your visa application. Common documents include:

  • Passport
