Requirements

There are quite a few and you are going to have to be diligent and organised when going through the application process. The entry requirements for the subclass 804 Aged Parent (Residence) visa are:
- have an eligible child who is a settled Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen
- be old enough to receive the age pension in Australia
- not have already applied for or hold a Sponsored Parent (Temporary) (subclass 870) visa when applying for this visa.
Process/Steps
Check Your Eligibility
- Ensure you meet the age requirements (usually 65 or older).
- You must be the parent of a child who is an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or eligible New Zealand citizen.
- You must pass the balance of family test, where at least half of your children must live in Australia, or more of your children live in Australia than in any other country.
