The Subclass 870 Sponsored Parent (Temporary) Visa allows parents of Australian citizens, permanent residents, or eligible New Zealand citizens to stay in Australia for an extended period. This visa provides an alternative to visitor visas, enabling parents to live in Australia for up to 3 or 5 years without needing to depart frequently. Unlike permanent parent visas, the Subclass 870 visa does not lead to permanent residency and does not allow work rights.
